Plasters

As a parent we quite often need to use plasters for the children (even with the smallest of wounds!). Most plasters come individually wrapped and with coated paper and the plaster itself may contain some plastic.

Through Instagram adverts I was excited to discover ‘Patch’ plasters. These are an organic adhesive strip that is 100% biodegradable. PATCH strips are made with bamboo fibre and gauze and are hypoallergenic. Bamboo is a renewable resource that grows many times faster than trees while using much less water and producing up to 35 times more oxygen and doesn’t need pesticides or herbicides! Patch plasters are Cruelty-free and Vegan friendly using only natural ingredients.

Patch offer 4 varieties of plaster – Natural, Coconut Oil Kids, Activated Charcoal and Aloe Vera. The plasters come individually wrapped in compostable paper and the plasters can also be composted after use. They come in a cardboard tube that can be recycled.

We have the Natural and Coconut Oil Kids packs. The Natural comes with a plain design and the Kids plaster has a cute panda design. We have tried out both types and they seem to work very well and are comfortable to wear. They do not appear to be as painful to remove as normal plasters and they do not leave a horrible residue once removed.

You can get these plasters from a number of places including Holland + Barrett, Superdrug (from mid-July) and online retailers. I bought my Natural ones from The Eco Friendly Living Co.
