Paper tape

Sellotape is generally made of plastic which cannot be recycled, this can then impact on the ability to recycle the materials it is attached to.

Over the last couple of years we have been considering alternative ways to wrap and seal presents. One way we have found is using self adhesive paper tape. I found the current roll we are using in our local zero waste store Larder. This tape is from Kite and it is 100% recyclable.

I really like how easy it is to peel off and to cut or even rip if needed. It doesn't look the best on standard wrapping paper due to its colour. However when used on brown paper, it doesn't stand out. When we have used brown paper we like to decorate it to personalise the parcel. Brown paper is also a better option as it is recyclable unlike many types of wrapping paper.
