Make-Up

I generally don’t wear a lot of make up, I never have, usually only if I am going out for a special occasion. This means my make up normally lasts quite a while. As things run out I am looking for alternatives that don’t involve lots of plastic containers which can often be difficult to recycle. I have in the past made play make up for my children using them (I will share more about this another time).

My first make-up switches have been to ‘Love the Planet’ mineral foundation and blush. I love these products after just a couple of uses. I opted for the refills which come in compostable bags. With this option you put the powder in your own container. You can also buy them in a tin which you can later buy refills for.

As some who doesn't wear much make-up I have found foundations tricky in the past having issues with coverage or clumping. This mineral foundation goes on really well, gives great coverage and feels so light. I have found a little goes a long way and it allows you to build up the amount of coverage needed slowly.

The blush gives a lovely colour, with a little shine and again only a little is needed and it is easy to build up to your desired colour.

Their products are vegan friendly, cruelty free and free from parabens and palm oil.

I am hoping to try some of their eye colours next when I run out of my current products. I will also be exploring some other companies that offer refillable or plastic free products such as lipstick and mascaras. If your have any suggestions for brands I should try please let me know.
